Nu-Vision Ministry Canada was thrilled with the great turnout at the Kim Phuc events on Sept. 23/24, 2016.
Kim Phuc is an amazing person who has an important story to tell. All who were privileged to meet her and hear her story were enriched by her message of hope, peace and forgiveness.
We are grateful to our sponsors, Chronicle Journal, Airlane Travelodge, ERB Transport, and UCB Radio. We also appreciated the involvement of the Global Citizenship Class from Westmount School for their keen interest and excellent questions at the end of the evening program.
Volunteers with Nu-Vision were especially grateful for the excellent media coverage we received as it enhanced our efforts in planning for these events. The Chronicle Journal was exceptional with publicity and feature articles. Other media outlets that were also helpful in promoting this event included the Walleye, CBC Radio, LU Radio, Magic 99.9 and Country 105. Thanks also goes to Lakehead Social Planning Council, Fireweed and Canadian Tire Intercity. The excellent follow-up feature story and photos in the Source captured the sentiment of the evening event.
Funds raised went towards Kim Foundation International and to the programs of Nu-Vision Ministry Canada. The special donations to Haiti raised at the breakfast are even more important now after the devastation of the recent hurricane a few days ago.
Thank you to all who attended the events with Kim Phuc. We, the volunteers at Nu-Vision, are greatly encouraged by your support and your regular attendance at our events. We seek to bring outstanding speakers to Thunder Bay as part of our community engagement mandate. Find out more about our work at www.nu-vision.org. We look forward to welcoming you to our events in the months and years ahead.
